Alphonso Scholarship Fund, Inc. partners with local organizations to facilitate outreach programs in rural communities. Supporting local champions encourages primary prevention of adverse childhood experiences by providing families and community members with access to resources that would otherwise be unavailable. Moreover, we know that children are at their best when they feel safe and supported by their community.
Our mission is scaffolded on principles found in the field of Community Health. That is why ASF focuses on the effects of primary prevention initiatives, such as access to education and community engagement. This is also why our Alphonso Summer Literacy Camp includes a socioemotional curriculum to prepare students in becoming positive role models in their families and community at large.
